In a hilarious incident, Afghanistan's premier opener Ibrahim Zadran lost his bat while attempting for a big shot during his side's ongoing T20 World Cup Super Eight encounter against Bangladesh at Arnos Vale Stadium in St Vincent.

The incident occurred during the eleventh over of Afghanistan's innings when they were struggling to accelerate in this must-win game.

After playing two consecutive dot balls, Ibrahim decided to break the shackles as he went for a big hoik against ace Bangladesh spinner Rishad Hossain.

Coming from over the wicket, Rishad bowled a tossed-up delivery, with Zadran going for a wild sweep shot over the leg side. However, as he failed to connect it, the bat flew out of his hands and landed on the square leg region.

Experienced Bangladesh seamer Taskin Ahmed, who was fielding at square leg, took the bat from the umpire and returned it to the Afghan batter with a cheeky smile.

However, just after getting his bat back, Ibrahim fell prey to Rishad's wily leg spin for a 29-ball 18. Despite losing his opening partner, Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been fighting at one end, trying to ensure a fighting total for his team.
