KL Rahul took a bold move by taking the wicket-keeper’s duties ahead of Quinton de Kock and Nicholas Pooran in Match 4 of the IPL 2024 between Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.

The talismanic batsman, who is taking all his chances to be in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, did not disappoint with the big gloves, as one of his spectacular catches forced Jos Buttler to depart cheaply.

After Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bat, Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal were aiming to give the Royals a fiery start. However, it did not happen, as England’s limited-overs captain fell for a nine-ball 19 during the second over of the innings.

Buttler saw a fullish delivery off Naveen-ul-Haq which was towards the fifth stump line. He went for a cover drive, only to find a thick outside edge. Rahul, who was wrong-footed, stretched his arms to his right, and plucked an absolute beauty of a catch.

At the time of writing this, Rajasthan are batting on 27/1 after 3.4 overs, with Jaiswal batting on 14* off nine balls, whereas Samson is on 1* off four balls.
