Gujarat Titans (GT) are in celebratory mode ahead of their opening clash for the IPL 2024 against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday (March 24). The 2022 winners and the previous year's runners-up, the Titans will be organising a separate opening ceremony for their first game of the season in Ahmedabad.

As the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat rivals take on their immensely popular Mumbai counterparts, with a large crowd anticipated for the high-octane clash, Motera's iconic ground will be lit up for a pre-match fest where fans can expect great song and dance ahead of the mouth-watering contest.

The Titans are approaching the dawn of a new era following the unexpected and controversial departure of former skipper, Hardik Pandya from their set-up as new captain Gill takes over the leadership mantle in the very first game against a team led by his Gujarat predecessor.

The 1,00,000-lakh seated Motera ground is set for another fest and celebration before the Titans lock horns with Mumbai, the joint-most successful IPL franchise in the league's history alongside defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

It would be an emotional affair for either side as Pandya confronts his teammates from the previous two editions of the IPL while Gill challenges his former skipper in his new avatar.

Especially for Pandya, the occasion could bring a mix of feelings as a portion of the huge Ahmedabad crowd is expected to unfurl boos against his name and a part is likely to still support the home-grown lad.

Either way, cricket fans can expect a riveting battle for supremacy as the GT vs MI clash headlines an exciting Sunday double-header day in IPL 2024, including also the afternoon's encounter in Jaipur between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
