Harshit Rana recorded a four-fer [Twitter]
Young pacer Harshit Rana had a field day in India's opening game at the ACC Mens Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 as he rattled the United Arab Emirates batting unit to finish with a four-wicket haul.
Rana opened his account with a lucky dismissal of opener Jonathan Figgy, who pulled a short delivery outside leg-stump straight down the throat of the deep fine-leg fielder.
His second wicket was yet another leg-side strangler as Ansh Tandon proceeded to edge a harmless delivery straight to keeper Dhurv Jurel.
Harshit then returned later in the innings to claim two more wickets, the first of which was via a stunning fielding effort.
The fast bowler took a one-handed stunner off his bowling after Faraazuddin tried to flat-bat a short delivery straight down the ground.
Rana capped off his brilliant spell with an accurate yorker which proceeded to clip the stumps of Sanchit Sharma. His spell of 4 for 41 in 9 overs helped India-A restrict UAE-A to 175/9 in 50 overs.
The target was easily gunned down by the Boys in Blue thanks to a blistering unbeaten ton from Yash Dhull.
Dhull smashed 20 fours and one maximum in his 84-ball 108* to help his team coast home with eight wickets still in the bank.
