Talented top-order batsman and India's U19 World Cup-winning skipper Yash Dhull achieved a major milestone on Friday, scoring his maiden List A ton in the ongoing ACC Mens Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 against UAE-A.

Needing 176 to win, India-A were in a spot of bother when they lost both their openers- Sai Sudarshan (8 off 8) and Abhishek Sharma (19 off 14)- at the score of 41.

However, Dhull was in a mood to smash the bowling apart, and he did so with absolute disdain, hammering 20 fours and a monstrous six to finish on an unbeaten 108 off just 84 deliveries.

The Delhi batsman went on to add unbeaten 138 runs for the third wicket with Nikin Jose, who finished at an unbeaten 53-ball 41.

Earlier, pacer Harshit Rana proved too hot to handle for the United Arab Emirates- A batting line-up as he picked up four wickets in 9 overs while conceding just 41 runs.

Fellow seamer Nitish Reddy and left-arm orthodox Manav Suthar also chipped in with two wickets apiece to ensure that UAE-A were eventually restricted to 175/9 in 50 overs.

Needless to say, Dhull was adjudged the "Player of the Match" for his whirlwind exploits, something that he hopes to emulate in the forthcoming fixtures.

India-A will next face Nepal-A on July 17 before locking horns with arch-rivals Pakistan two days later.
