WI vs IND, Day 3, Session 1 | Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja Help India Run the Show

Similar to the lines on which the Test has moved, the morning session of Day 3 offered no distinction as Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja aided India in ruling the roost.

Though run-scoring again happened to be on the lower side, India are already so ahead in the game that the Windies have no option now but to play the waiting game.

Starting the day at 312/2, the duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli added to India's lead. The former showed signs of aggression and soon brought up his 150, becoming the fifth youngest overall and third India to do so on his Test debut.

While Yashasvi tried to up the ante, Kohli's patience-laden knock complimented him well.

An Alzarri Joseph delivery induced an edge off Yashasvi Jaiswal's bat but his 171-run knock gave India the control of the steering wheel.

Soon after, Ajinkya Rahane, India's number five, chipped one straight to cover to depart for a disappointing 11-ball three as Kemar Roach finally broke into the wickets' tally.

Kohli's third-slowest Test fifty

Though Kohli saw two wickets tumble, he continued to cut a wide scathe in a rather unusual way. He brought up his half-century with a single while facing his 147th delivery in the ongoing Test. This is his third-slowest Test fifty.

At lunch, India are at 400/4 with Kohli and Jadeja batting unbeaten on 72 and 21 runs respectively.
