The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season certainly belongs to Virat Kohli. Coming out to play this season after a lengthy break, there were question marks over his T20 batting approach.

King reigns supreme!

However, the legendary batter has responded in style and has notched up his 8th IPL century and the first century by any batter in the ongoing edition. This is also Kohli's 3rd hundred in the last 8 IPL innings, showcasing his prowess in the T20 format.

Moreover, Kohli is also the leading run-scorer of the 2024 edition and has been at his aggressive best throughout the tournament. 

Heading into the contest against the Rajasthan Royals, Kohli had a disappointing performance against LSG. He kept that aside and was back to his best against one of the best attacks of the tournament.

He started out with some authoritative strokes against Trent Boult and Nandre Burger, and continued the assault against Avesh Khan as well. Though he struggled against the spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and R Ashwin, but he covered up for it with his assault on the seamers.

The highlight of the innings was his pick-up pull shot over deep square leg boundary, that he hit against Burger with utmost ease.

The RCB opening batter was amply supported by skipper Faf du Plessis, who was eventually dismissed for a well-compiled 44.

Interestingly, out of RCB's total of 183, Kohli alone amassed unbeaten 113 runs.
