Faf du Plessis’ excellent knock of 33-ball 44 came to an end on Saturday during RCB’s IPL 2024 clash against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.

Yuzvendra Chahal, the highest wicket-taker in IPL’s history, got the big fish during the 14th over of RCB’s innings after Sanju Samson asked them to bat first.

Skipper du Plessis, along with Virat Kohli, gave RCB a perfect start against Trent Boult and his boys. The star duo forged a 125-run partnership before the South African international, just after Boult gave him a lifeline, lost his wicket to Chahal.

The veteran leg-spinner bowled a flighted delivery, and du Plessis tried to heave it across the line. However, Chahal was smart, and bowled wide of off-stump, disallowing du Plessis to get the elevation he was looking for.

Placed at long-on, Jos Buttler made no mistake while grabbing an excellent catch, leaving du Plessis dissappointed.

Meanwhile, RCB are in an excellent position, racing to 144/2 after 16 overs, with Virat Kohli going strong, batting on 87* off 58 balls. Debutant Saurav Chauhan is batting from another end, scoring 2* off 2 balls with Cam Green still to come.
