Hardik Pandya's second innings with the Mumbai Indians commenced, where he led the team as captain, this time. 

While his bowling performance during the powerplay wasn't his best, MI showcased excellent fielding under his leadership. Pandya strategically utilized his premier bowlers, Bumrah and Coetzee, both of whom delivered exceptional performances.

However, the standout moment of the match was Pandya's celebration after dismissing his former teammate, David Miller. Off Bumrah bowling, Miller misjudged a slower ball, resulting in Pandya taking the catch at long-on. 

Despite Miller's average performance in the match, the Mumbai Indians captain enthusiastic celebration hinted at the significance he attached to the wicket, given their shared history as teammates for two years, where Pandya served as Miller's captain.

Pandya's first outing as MI's skipper

On Pandya's captaincy debut for MI, Bumrah turned the tide with the ball, dismissing Wriddhiman Saha, Miller and Sai Sudharsan to restrict GT to 168 runs.
