Dramas do happen on the cricket field, and there is nothing new about it. And a similar incident happened on Saturday when Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians skipper, gave orders to Rohit Sharma, the five-time IPL title-winning skipper, which raised many eyebrows.

While captaining for the first time for MI at Narendra Modi Stadium, Hardik, while having a conversation with red-hot Gerald Coetzee, asked how he wanted to set up his fielders. The South African quick told Hardik his desire to take a player on long-on, instead of mid-on. 

Rohit was there, and Hardik immediately told him to change his position. However, India’s all-format captain was not prepared for it, and in a gesture, he told, ‘who, me?’

And Hardik confirmed, which led Rohit to switch his place, setting the social media world on fire.

Despite helping Gujarat Titans to win IPL 2022, Hardik did not receive a grand welcome by fans across the Narendra Modi Stadium. And to make matters worse, this gesture from the talismanic all-rounder brought more criticism in his life.

At the time of writing, Rohit is in the middle, batting on 24* off 16 balls, while Mumbai, chasing 169, have reached 52/2 after six overs.
