Sudharsan putting 45 on the board and skipper Shubman Gill scoring 31 while MI's Jasprit Bumrah was too good for anyone picking three wickets for 14 runs in four fours that grabbed the limelight in the first innings. His outstanding spell restricted GT's score to 15 runs less and gave MI a solid chance.

In the second innings, Mumbai Indians lost Ishan Kishan very early but Rohit Sharma and Dewald Brevis kept the innings under their control. Naman Dhir also played a fiery cameo to provide boost in the middle. Their wickets opened gateway in the middle that Gujarat bowlers grabbed with both hands. GT paved their way back with Mohit Sharma, Spencer Johnson and Sai Kishore alongside Rashid Khan putting pressure on the batters. Mumbai could only manage 162 by the end of 20 overs, handing Gujarat a victory by 6 runs.

MI: 162/9 (20) We're having nerves while writing this but Mumbai Indians have bottled down this chase, absolutely outta-nowhere. They were ahead for most part of the innings but even, they don't have any idea, how they lost this. Umesh Yadav was smacked for a six and a four on the first two deliveries by Hardik Pandya but came back roaring on the third, getting the wicket of the starman. And that changed the game. With nine required off three, Umesh did no mistake by bowling three legal deliveries and also, getting the wicket of Piyush Chawla. In the end, GT registered the victory by just six runs.
