The sixth match of CPL 2024 between Antigua & Barbuda Falcons and St Lucia Kings is underway at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. The Faf du Plessis-led side won the toss and elected to field first, as the teams that have batted second on this track so far in this CPL edition have enjoyed a 100% success rate. 

Fakhar Zaman and Justin Greaves opened the innings for the Falcons. It has been a mixed start by the hosts as they lost a solitary wicket within the powerplay and put 46 runs on the board.

Fakhar was the only casualty as he departed to the pavilion with a score of 21 (17), which featured two fours and a solitary six. Talking about the maximum, it was a typical Fakhar Zaman shot, where he went straight down the ground. 

Meanwhile, one of the groundstaff embarrassed himself in the process as he went for the catch, but became a laughing stock after failing miserably. 

CPL Offers Prize Money To Spectators 

The incident occurred on the 2nd ball of the 4th over and the groundstaff even explained his technique to one of his friends sitting beside him.

It is worth noting that CPL offers a prize money of $1000 to the person who takes the first one-handed catch of a match, which is why often in CPL we even see the groundsman or ball boys making a diving effort to catch the ball.

Recently, a similar instance occurred in one of the games where a ball boy made a full-stretched dive, but his efforts went in vain.
