IPL's most expensive pick, Mitchell Starc, had a horrendous IPL comeback, as SRH batters thrashed him in their season opener in Kolkata. 

The left-arm speedster looked wayward with respect to his line and length, going wicketless for 53 runs in his four-over spell. South African finisher Heinrich Klaasen took a particular liking for Starc, hammering him for three sixes in a single over. 

The incident occurred in the penultimate over of SRH's innings when the game was well-poised, with the team needing 39 runs off the final two overs. The over began on an emphatic note for SRH, as Klaasen hitting Starc for a massive six on the first ball. 

Although the Aussie veteran fought back, bowling a dot ball, the Proteas star stunned him, clobbering two consecutive sixes in the third and fourth delivery of the over. Shahbaz Ahmed finished off in style with another six, as Starc finished his spell with forgettable figures of none for 53. 

Klaasen's monstrous hits also shocked KKR's mentor Gautam Gambhir, who was seen giving an animated reaction to his fireworks. 

However, Klaasen's batting heroics wasn't enough to help SRH get over the line, as the visitors agonisingly fell short of the target by five runs. Harshit Rana emerged as the hero for KKR, holding his nerves and defending 13 runs in the final over.
