[Watch] Dhruv Jurel Brings Out Tendulkar-Esque Upper Cut For Six Against Mark Wood

In a moment that encapsulated the fearless spirit of youth and the audacity of talent, debutant Dhruv Jurel made a bold statement on the international cricket stage by taking on the formidable pace of Mark Wood with an audacious six over third man.

Indian centurion Ravindra Jadeja failed to add any more runs to the team's overnight tally on Day 3, as he and Kuldeep Yadav were dismissed early in the first session.

Having said that, it was a moment to shine for debutant wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel. He came out to bat at number 7 and had to wait for his due date a little longer. But he seemed headstrong with his plans and mindset.

After getting off the mark in two overs, Dhruv grabbed the confidence needed to clear the fence. In the 95th over, Mark Wood banged in a short-pitched delivery to intimidate Jurel. But the debutant was clever enough to lean back and ramp the ball over the third-man fence with an upper-cut-esque shot.

Since Dhruv managed to middle the ball, it crossed the boundary rope to award the debutant his maiden six in Test cricket.

For Jurel, the audacious six was more than just a display of skill. It was a testament to his confidence in and belief in his abilities as a cricketer.

Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel and Ravichandran Ashwin are currently at the crease to add bonus runs to India's first-innings score. The wicket of Rajkot has been an absolute belter for batters, and the Indian side has so far made the most of it.

However, t would be interesting to see how England unleashes bazball intent on this favorable surface. Though the hosts have put together a mammoth total, England cannot be ruled out of this Test game just yet.

Notably, the five-game series currently stands at 1-1.
