Indian skipper Rohit Sharma notched up his 11th Test ton during the third test match at Rajkot against England, earning accolades from former cricketer Mohammad Kaif, highlighting Rohit's ability to respond to doubters with his bat.

"Rohit Sharma ne muj tod jawab Dia hai. People who criticized him should keep quiet. He has always silenced his critics with his bat. Whenever anyone doubted his Calibre he scored a century like this," Kaif said.

Rohit's innings proved vital as India faced early setbacks, missing key players like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. His partnership with Ravindra Jadeja, who returned to the Test side after injury, stabilised the innings. Kaif endorsed the BCCI's decision to mandate IPL players' participation in the Ranji Trophy, emphasising respect for state cricket.

"This was a bit of a late move. It should have arrived sooner. Cricket players need to play Ranji and show respect for their states. Nothing like ‘I want to play IPL but not Ranji’ should be said. You have to show respect for the state that provided you with so much exposure during your formative years, Kaif told reporters.

Additionally, the Indian captain surpassed MS Dhoni's record of 78 sixes in Test matches. In his innings, Rohit hit three sixes, bringing his total to 80. With ninety-sixes in Test cricket for India, Virender Sehwag tops the list.

As captain, Rohit Sharma also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record of 4508 runs across all formats. Virat Kohli tops the list with 12,883 runs, followed by MS Dhoni with 11,207. Sourav Ganguly (7,665) is seated next, then Mohammad Azharuddin (8095).

Rohit's 131-run knock rescued India from a shaky start, guiding them to a promising total of 326/5 on day one. The inning's significance heightened with the series tied at 1-1, setting the stage for an intense battle ahead.
