Karthik, who has been part of the current dressing room, went on to tell the importance of Test cricket, and also reminded Jurel about his cricketing journey, that has led him to making his red-ball format debut.

I'm sure your dad is watching today - Dinesh Karthik

"Coming from Agra, moving to Noida at a very young age, your mother being there with you, all the tough things that must have happened in the journey, there must have been so many people that would have helped you become what they are. And I am sure , all of them are going to be watching today. You must have played a lot of matches in different colours, mainly blue but there is something very divine and pure about wearing the whites and representing in Test cricket."

"It is the toughest format of the game, it's relentless but their is tremendous satisfaction when you do well in this format, ask any player, who has played all formats and the amount of satisfaction you get at the end of five days when you win a Test match, not many feelings can come close to that. Am sure you dad is watching today, who is your biggest hero, and he will be very proud and happy like everyone else are."

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player also talked about Jurel's fellow Uttar Pradesh teammate Rinku Singh, who has excelled in international cricket recently and has seized each moment presented to him.

The 23-year-old has featured in 15 First-Class (FC), 10 List-A and 23 T20s, amassing 1,223 with one hundred and seven fifties.
