[Watch] Yashasvi Jaiswal 'Outfoxed' As Mark Wood Breathes Fire On Return

England speedster Mark Wood dismissed the in-form Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal to provide the first breakthrough for the visitors in the ongoing third Test of the five-match series in Rajkot.

After winning an important toss, India opted to bat first on a flat-looking pitch. This decision was also taken to provide the best batting conditions to the inexperienced batting line-up consisting of two debutants.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma came out to open for India. Jaiswal, who’s the leading run-scorer in the series so far, started his innings well with a boundary off the first ball of the innings. But he could only play for two more overs before being dismissed.

It was the fifth delivery of the fourth over when Wood's extra pace and bounce brought about Jaiswal's undoing. Wood, who went wicketless in the first Test, bowled a delivery short in length and angling across the off stump. Jaiswal hung back before sparring at it with hard hands as the edge flew straight to Root at first slip for a straightforward catch. He poked at one he should have left alone. However, the trajectory forced him to play at it.

England looked mighty pleased with that, especially Wood for whom it was the first wicket of the series. The man in form was sent back rather cheaply.

As mentioned above, India are playing with two debutants - Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan. Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar have been left out for Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj.

For England, only one change to the lineup as Wood comes back into the side in place of Shoaib Bashir. The change seemed to have worked wonders as Wood got the huge wicket of Jaiswal, who would have scored another big hundred on a flat Rajkot pitch.
