Mumbai lad Sarfaraz Khan made his much-awaited debut for the Indian Test team ahead of the Rajkot game against England. Khan utilised his hard-earned opportunity to leave a significant mark, which mesmerised his former RCB teammate Chris Gayle.

In an emotional moment, Sarfaraz Khan was handed his debut Test cap by former legendary spinner Anil Kumble at Rajkot. At the same time, his father teared up on the sidelines to see his son make it after all the hard work and sacrifices.

India batted first, and after losing two wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill in quick succession, skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front and scored a magnificent century to elevate India's first-inning score.

Meanwhile, after Mark Wood removed Sharma, debutant Sarfaraz Khan stepped in for the first time in whites. However, no ounce of nervousness or early jitters was visible on Khan's face as he took the lethal English bowling unit head-on. Sarfaraz played his shots as usual and didn't hesitate to dispatch bad deliveries into the stands.

Needless to say, the cricket fraternity was amazed to see the youngster's fearless approach. While the nation celebrated Sarfaraz Khan's half-century debut, his former RCB teammate and the universe boss Chris Gayle joined the mass to send best wishes to the debutant.

Gayle took to his Instagram handle to congratulate and show support for Sarfaraz as he hit his maiden Test fifty on debut and also became the fastest one to do so in a maiden red ball game.

Gayle's gesture also serves as a reminder of the broader cricketing community's support and encouragement for players at all levels of the game.

Amid the excitement and anticipation surrounding Sarfaraz's Test debut, Chris Gayle's congratulatory message served as a poignant reminder of the values that define cricket and the spirit of sportsmanship that transcends the boundaries of competition.
