In the inaugural edition of the World Championship of Legends (WCL), Indian Champions defeated Pakistan Champions by five wickets in the final on Saturday, July 13, at Edgbaston, Birmingham.  

Pakistan Champions captain Younis Khan won the toss and invited India to bowl first. Batting first, Pakistan posted a decent total of 156/6 in 20 overs.

In return, with a commendable batting effort, India chased down the target in 19.1 overs and registered a five-wicket win to claim the trophy. 

Former Indian cricketer, Ambati Rayudu, played a crucial knock of 50 runs off just 30 balls and grabbed the spotlight in India's victory against Pakistan.

India's openers Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu provided them a great start in the powerplay. 

Rayudu, from the time he entered the crease, looked in fine touch as he struck a boundary and a six in the first over of Aamer Yamin. 

Robin Uthappa, who struck a belligerent fifty against Australia, failed to build his innings and got dismissed cheaply. Suresh Raina also failed in a crucial match and gave an easy catch to Sohail Tanvir. 

India was losing wickets from one end, but Ambati Rayudu kept his calm and played some sensational shots to complete his fifty in 29 balls to help India register a comfortable win. 

His innings was the highlight of the match as he build a a crucial 60-run stand with Gurkeerat Singh Mann.
