James Anderson received a perfect farewell from England, concluding his illustrious international cricket career with a memorable performance. 

Taking three wickets in the Test match against the West Indies, James Anderson showcased his enduring skill and fitness. England secured a dominant victory, winning by an innings and 114 runs, and going 1-0 up in the series.

In his last match, the 41-year-old pacer demonstrated his exceptional fitness and commitment as he stopped a ball from crossing the boundary line.

Gudakesh Motie timed a wide delivery from Gus Atkinson over cover, and the ball appeared to be heading to the boundary. 

Anderson came out of frame, made a full-stretch dive to save the boundary. This remarkable effort earned him applause from the fans at Lord's, which highlighted his dedication and skill even in his final game.

Taking a look at the match, England won the crucial toss and chose to bowl first. The English bowlers capitalized on the conditions, and swiftly dismissed the West Indies for a mere 121 runs in 41.4 overs. Debutant Gus Atkinson delivered a phenomenal spell, taking 7/45 in his 12 overs.

England's batters then comfortably surpassed the Windies' total, with contributions from Zak Crawley (76), Ollie Pope (57). 

 Debutant Jamie Smith shone with a splendid knock of 70, hitting eight boundaries and two sixes, helping England secure a commanding lead of 250 runs.

In the West Indies' second innings, James Anderson showcased his prowess with figures of 3/32 in 16 overs, supported by Ben Stokes' two wickets. 

England's solid all-around performance secured a comprehensive victory, giving them an early series lead. The Next match will be played from 18-22 July at the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground.
