On Thursday, February 6, India and England locked horns for the first ODI of the three match series, where the hosts registered a four -wicket win to lead the series 1-0. It was an enthralling match at the VCA stadium in Nagpur, where the fans turned up in thousands to watch their idols play.
The fans dealt a heavy blow before the match as Virat Kohli was ruled out of the first ODI because of a knee injury. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma failed to put on a show with the bat and extended his horror run as he returned to the pavilion with a low score of 2 (7).
Following the failure with the bat, Rohit has been at the centre of criticism, but keeping that aside, a beautiful moment was captured from yesterday's match where England's Brydon Carse and Harry Brook, took off their cap before shaking hands with Rohit during post-match presentation. Watch the incident here.
Rohit Sharma Under Immense Criticism
Cricket is a gentlemen's game, and taking off your cap before a handshake is a common practice in the sport. However, in the past few years, the practice hasn't followed as much as it was back in the day. However, the video is doing rounds on the internet, and the fans are all praise for Carse and Brook.
Shedding light on Rohit Sharma, he is going through a major slump, and the fans are demanding his ouster from the team. The hitman would have to redeem himself when India next take on England at the Barbati Stadium in Cuttack on February 9 for the 2nd ODI.
