In a shocking development, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Women's star player, Ellyse Perry has casted doubts on her participation in the upcoming edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL). Perry recently attended the annual Australian Cricket Awards, where she was asked about her potential participation in the upcoming season, to which she gave an interesting reply.

Perry revealed that a clear picture on her participation will come in the next few days, but she is recovering from her hip injury and could make a decision soon on her visit to India for the cash-rich league.

Ellyse Perry suffered from the injury during the Women's Ashes against the visiting England team. In the one-off Test match, Perry didn't bowl in England's first innings as eyebrows were raised on her potential injury. However, those doubts turned into reality as she came out to bat well down the order and was not even required to bowl in the second innings.

If she misses WPL, it could turn out to be a massive blow for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who are the defending champions.

RCB set to miss Kate Cross' services for WPL

Perry's upcoming WPL future will be cleared in a couple of days, but another RCB player is set to miss the entire season as English bowler, Kate Cross has opted out of the league to prioritise her mental and wellbeing.

With Kate Cross out and Perry potentially missing out, RCB will need to find two quality replacements, which is going to be a difficult task.
