Yesha Sagar- (Source:@Cricket&Gone/X.com)
Bangladesh Premier League have been hit with a fresh controversy as Chittagong Kings' representative Yesha Sagar has left Bangladesh mid-way through the tournament after failing to comply to a notice by the Kings.
Notably, the Kings had hired Canadian model and fashion influencer, Yesha, for entire BPL, where she was part of their pre-match, post-match and sponsorship roles. Much to what Mr Nags is to RCB, Yesha was to Chittagong Kings.
However, things took a drastic turn in February as the Kings sent her a notice accusing her of failing to attend a official sponsorship dinner and also not completing her sponsorship shoots.
"According to Clause 9 of the contract, you (Yesha) have failed to perform your duties, and despite being officially invited, you failed to attend the sponsor dinner. You have neglected to complete the necessary sponsor shoots and promotional shout-outs. Your failure to comply has caused financial and reputational damage to the franchise (Chittagong Kings), " Chittagong Kings' owner Samir Kader Chowdhury remarked.
Hurt by the notice, Yesha didn't reply to it, but rather opted to fly out of Bangladesh. According to latest reports, it is said that she has flown to India and is hosting Legends 90 League.
Durbar Rajshahi Fail To Pay Overseas Cricketers
It is not the only controversy that rocked the BPL, but a few days ago, Durbar Rajshahi owners failed to pay overseas stars, following which they opted out of a match against Rangpur Riders because of non-payment of dues.
Notably, during the match, no foreign players took the field as they protested over the non-payment. As a result, all 11 Bangladeshi players took the field against the Riders, violating BPL's rules. According to the league's rules, a team has to play two minimum foreign stars.
