On Friday, September 20, the new edition of Legends League Cricket commenced with six teams taking part in this tournament for the prestigious trophy. In this edition, several retired Indian stars, such as Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, and Dinesh Karthik, are headlining the event.

In the latest events, Shikhar Dhawan, who recently hung up his boots from all forms of cricket, featured in his debut game in LLC on Sunday, September 22. In the recently concluded match between Toyam Hyderabad and Gujarat Greats, Dhawan, playing for the Greats, turned back the clock after he hit three boundaries on the Trott.

Hyderabad, batting first, put 172 runs on the board after 20 overs as they rode on Suresh Raina's brilliant 44 (27), which featured five fours and two sixes. In reply, Dhawan, leading Gujarat, opened the innings and scored 21 (20), featuring three fours.

He couldn't score big but hogged the headlines after he hit three fours on a trot. On the 3rd ball of the 4th ball, Dhawan got lucky as a thick outside edge raised away for a boundary. On the next delivery, vintage Dhawan unleashed as he whacked Pradeep for a four off a brilliant cover drive that reminded fans of his India days.

It was an action replay on the 5th ball as Dhawan collected another boundary with a similar shot and the same result. He could not convert his start and threw his wicket away in the 10th over of the game. Nonetheless, it was easy for Gujarat as they chased down the target in 19.3 overs with eight wickets.

Shikhar Dhawan's Career For India

Dhawan, who won't feature in any form of cricket in India, has amassed 10867 runs for India in 269 international matches. He rose to fame after his heroics for the Men in Blue during 2013 Champions Trophy.
