On Sunday, September 22, Mayank Agarwal-led India A lifted the prestigious Duleep Trophy 2024 title after they beat India C by 132 runs to top the table with 12 points after three rounds. 

In the recently concluded match, India A, batting first, put 297 runs on the board, courtesy of a century from Shashwat Rawat. In reply, India C came close and tumbled for 234 runs. The Mayank Agarwal-led side, batting again, put 286 runs on the board as Riyan Parag was the top-scorer with 73 (101). Eventually, India C were restricted to 217 runs as Prasidh Krishna and Tanush Kotian took three wickets each. 


Riyan Parag And Tilak Varma Lead The Celebrations 

India A bowlers' remarkable performance in the final session saw them take seven wickets. Prasidh Krishna took the final scalp. On the fifth ball of the 82nd over, Krishna trapped Kamboj in front of the wickets, which led to massive celebrations. 

Riyan Parag and Tilak Varma broke into wild celebrations as they danced on the pitch after a successful season. The players were jumping in joy and hugging each other after a successful campaign. 

 Duleep Trophy 2024: India A's Journey This Season

India A got off to a disappointing start to this Duleep Trophy 2024 season as they suffered a 76-run defeat against India B in their opening match. However, the Mayank Agarwal-led side bounced back strongly and beat India D by 186 runs in their second-round game. 

It was  a crucial third round game for them as India C were also in contention. Eventually, India C finished second with nine points in three matches, while India B and India D finished third and fourth respectively.
