Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) superstar and batting pioneer Virat Kohli left his everlasting mark on Indian Premier League (IPL) history as he unlocked his career fourth IPL season with 600+ runs, thus equaling KL Rahul and leaveing behind Universe boss Chris Gayle in the historic list.

Virat Kohli reignited widespread debate over his low strike rate this IPL 2024 season with a couple of slow knocks, which hampered RCB's winning odds.

An indirect war of words was triggered between the former captain and commentator Sunil Gavaskar after Kohli responded to his doubters in a fiery post-game interview.

Moreover, with the T20 World Cup 2024 around the corner, concerns over Kohli's form were bound to rise. However, Virat Kohli silenced his critics once and for all with a 92-run knock against Punjab Kings at Dharamsala.

Batting first, Kohli and Rajat Patidar stitched a 60-odd runs partnership to put RCB in the driver's seat before Kohli shifted gears after the rain break.

Virat Kohli raced to his half-century in no time and consistently managed over 150+ striker rates. In the process, Kohli also unlocked his 600th run of the ongoing IPL season and added another feather to his golden cap.

This is Virat Kohli's fourth IPL season, with 600+ runs scored, and he equaled KL Rahul's record of scoring 600+ runs in a season the most number of times. While KL also achieved this feat four times, Chris Gayle and David Warner also scored 600 runs thrice in his prolific IPL career.

That being said, Virat Kohli's extraordinary knock was cut short by 92 runs as Arshdeep Singh dismissed the former RCB skipper with a wide skipper, and fortunately, Rilee Rossouw clubbed the first catch of the evening for PBKS.
