Virat Kohli's strike-rate has been a subject of great interest in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Former cricketers have not shied away from taking a dig at how Kohli approaches his innings, especially his game-play against the spinners in the middle-overs.

In the last match against SRH, Virat Kohli once again started on the front-foot in the power-play, but slowed down considerably, and was eventually dismissed for a 43-ball 51. However, he responded back in style in the just concluded IPL match against Gujarat Titans, smashing a quick-fire 44-ball 70 to steer his side past the winning line.

The former RCB leader looked pumped up and even brought out the slog sweep against the spinners, a shot that he rarely plays these days. During the post-match interview, Kohli was asked about his approach towards the game, and he hit back at his critics, who questioned his strike-rate.

Kohli hits back at critics

"All people who talk about strike-rates and me not playing spin well, talk about these things (stats). It's just about doing my job. They can talk anything they want to. It's kind of muscle memory for me now."

Kohli also praised centurion Will Jacks, who scored one of the greatest centuries in IPL history, and stated that he was glad that he could watch the knock from the other end.

"Phenomenal. Initially, when he (Will Jacks) came out to bat, he was annoyed that he wasn't able to strike the ball as he wanted to. The only talk was to for him to stay calm. We know how explosive he can be when he gets going. I was really glad that I watched his knock from the other end."

RCB were given a target of 201 to chase down, which the visitors did inside 16 overs. Jacks scored an unbeaten 100 off 41 as RCB made a mockery of the total.
