The 9th edition of T20 World Cup 2024 is up and running in USA and Caribbean and it is time for the co-hosts USA to take on their second opposition in the tournament and they are none other than Pakistan. Dallas is the venue, and let's see how USA fare out against a Pakistan team that would be desperate to get off the blocks in style.

United States Of America 

USA were brilliant with the bat in their first game and nailed down a big target of 195 in just 18th over despite losing early wickets. Aaron Jones and Andries Gous were the star of the show with 94 and 65 respectively and with the experience of Corey Anderson, Steven Taylor and Monank Patel in their batting order, USA look a formidable batting line-up. 

Their bowlers were expensive in the last game, but Harmeet Singh showed his class amidst the carnage and gave away just 27 runs in four overs with a wicket to his name. The likes of Ali Khan and Saurabh Netravalkar need to be better with the new ball though, and one big positive for USA is that they have plenty of all-round options which provide them depth in both batting and bowling department. Also, with conditions expected to be same as they were in the first game.

Pakistan

Pakistan, on the other hand, would be playing their first game of the tournament and after a disappointing series against England, they would be looking to stamp their authority in the first game. Also, the big news is that Imad Wasim is injured and it is a big blow for Pakistan as he can be handy both with the bat and ball.

Also, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam are likely to open again with Saim Ayub missing out and Usman Khan batting at 3. The likes of Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan are all spin-allrounders while Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi form a formidable pace trio.

So, with plenty of options at their disposal and experience in the squad, expect Pakistan to come up with a strong performance.
