India Under-19 walloped their Australian counterparts in a low-scoring second Youth Test to seal the two-match series 2-0. Henil Patel picked up another three wickets on Day 2 to complete a six-wicket match haul in a winning cause for the tourists in Mackay.

Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of Day 2 of the second youth Test of the two-match series between Australia Under-19 and India Under-19, as it panned out at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay on Wednesday, October 8.

Barton, Osbourne wrap up India U19

Resuming their first innings at 144-7 on Day 2, India Under-19 wrapped for just 171 within the next 12 overs of the morning session. Kasey Barton (4-57), Julian Osbourne (2-22) and Charles Lachmund (2-50) picked up the final three wickets on offer to restrict the India Under-19 lead to just 36 runs.

Henil Patel, Naman Pushpak scythe through Australia

Australia Under-19 faltered with the bat for the second time in the match, this time to get bundled out for just 116 in 40.1 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Alex Lee Young once again top-scored for the hosts, as he complemented his first innings half-century with a fighting 38 from 78 balls in the second gig.

For India, Henil Patel picked up yet another three-fer (3-23) to complete six for the match. Leg-spinner Naman Pushpak (3-19) also picked up three wickets, while new ball pacer Udhav Mohan struck twice early in the innings to set up India Under-19 an easy target of just 81 for a win.

India wins big despite Vaibhav Suryavanshi flopping with a golden duck

India Under-19 captain and opener Ayush Mhatre started off with three boundaries off his first five balls, before getting cleaned up by Kasey Barton. In a rare occurrence, fellow teenage batting sensation and IPL superstar Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed for a first-ball duck as India Under-19 lost both openers at the time of reaching 13 inside the first two overs.

For Australia Under-19, Kasey Barton also removed Vihaan Malhotra for a run-a-ball 21. However, Vedant Trivedi struck an unbeaten 33* from 35 balls, and formed a 32-run partnership with Rahul Kumar (13* off 14) to take India Under-19 home in just 12.2 overs with seven wickets intact.
