The Indian team, under Rohit Sharma, will commence their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign with a high-profile clash against Pakistan on October 23. The Men in Blue were humbled by their arch-rivals in their previous face-off at an ICC event, which also snapped their unbeaten run against Pakistan in World Cup matches.
Shaheen Afridi, owing to his sublime opening gambit against the Indian top order, was one of the architects of Pakistan's ten-wicket triumph. The cricketer is now back on the team after an injury layoff and is slated to go up against the same Indian batting line-up again.
Ahead of the much-anticipated clash, former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar has offered some valuable advice to Rohit Sharma's troops to tackle a charged-up Afridi.
Sachin Tendulkar asks Indian batters to play straight against Afridi
Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar recently praised Shaheen Afridi and described him as an attacking bowler who likes to go for wickets. The former cricketer advised the Indian batters to play the speedster straight and within the ‘V’.
While speaking with PTI, Tendulkar said:
"Shaheen Afridi is an attacking bowler and he likes to go for wickets. He pitches the ball up and backs himself to swing the ball. He has the capability to beat the batters in the air and off the pitch with his pace upfront. So with him strategy should be to play straight and within the ‘V’."
