The Qalandars need Shaheen to lead from the front [X.com]
The battle for supremacy in the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (IPL) continues on a super Sunday (February 25) where Lahore Qalandars face-off against the Peshawar Zalmi. The Qalandars strive to make amends against their Zalmi counterparts after losing their first four matches of the tournament.
Shaheen Afridi's men will have to bounce back if they are to keep their playoff hopes intact. For the Zalmis, however, it will be an opportunity to bag another positive outcome and rally on the momentum after having defeated Multan Sultans in their previous clash.

Lahore Qalandars
Inconsistency and lack of collective overall performances have hurt the Qalandars in the PSL 2024 so far. Neither their batters have put in the strong enough totals nor have their bowlers come up with enough substance to restrict the opposition line-ups.
It hasn't helped that their skipper and spearhead Shaheen Afridi has taken just 4 wickets in his four outings of the competition while conceding nearly 8 runs an over. Despite carrying big names in their attack, the Qalandars require their captain to strike early and ease the life for the rest of the pack.
On the batting front, only Rassie van der Dussen (176) and Sahibzada Farhan (187) have come up with solid contributions and the Qalandars would be desperate for that to change in the next game, with others needing to also put their hands up.
Peshawar Zalmi
The Zalmi would've delighted with the way their clash against the Sultans went. Unlike the Qalandars, they found heroes in both departments of the game with critical thirties from skipper Babar Azam (31) and Haseebullah Khan (37) alongside useful other contributions helping them reach 179/8 in the first half.
Then their bowlers rose to the occasion and dismissed their Multan counterparts five runs short of the winning mark in a terrific match.
Luke Wood's 2 for 13 off his 4 overs was perhaps the difference between the two teams in the end since his not only provided the breakthroughs but also kept a tight leash on the scoring.

LAH vs PES: Lahore Pitch Report
There is an unofficial standard to the kind of wickets fans can expect PSL matches to be played on, especially at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, which is renowned for its flat batting paradise. Bowlers travelling to Lahore are often required to develop a really thick skin if they to mentally overcome the battering that batters invariably provide them on a ground where small boundary dimensions further act as a nemesis. Expect another high-scoring clash.
