Karachi Kings flogged the Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets at Lahore on February 21 to register their first set of points this PSL 2024 season. Earlier in the tournament, Shan Masood and co. slumped to a 55-run defeat at the hands of Multan Sultans in their opening game.

With a win and a defeat up their sleeve, the Karachi Kings will now face a winless Lahore Qalandars side in match number 10 of PSL 2024 season on February 24. Ahead of the much-awaited contest, here is a look at the probable playing XI for Karachi Kings.

Karachi Kings captain Shan Masood will likely field a similar playing XI for the match against Lahore Qalandars. In their previous win against Peshawar Zalmi, Masood’s opening partner and wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Akhlaq blasted a 13-ball 24 at the top of the order.

In-form batters James Vince and Shoaib Malik will constitute the team’s middle-order, while Kieron Pollard will likely handle the slog overs with the bat. The West Indies-based T20 legend packed 49 unbeaten runs from just 21 balls in his previous innings, and will enter into the battlefield against Lahore Qalandars with much momentum up his sleeve.

Apart from Pollard, Mohammad Nawaz will serve as another specialist all-rounder for Karachi Kings. Irfan Khan can helm team’s middle-overs charge in case of a top-order collapse.

Mir Hamza, who won the ‘Player of the Match’ award against Peshawar Zalmi for his three-fer, justified the faith of the team management and is set to receive an extended rope for them this season. Senior man Hasan Ali and overseas star Daniel Sams will form Karachi Kings’ fast-bowling trio, with Hamza and South African import Tabraiz Shamsi starting out as the leading spinner of the playing XI.
