16:38 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Stumps, India: 40/0

This is a fine turnaround from India. They have proved their mettle on the back of an all-round show from Kuldeep Yadav, who played his part with the bat first and then decimated England with his mystery spin. Dhruv Jurel was terrific with the bat, and so was Ashwin with his 35th fifer. India will be pretty pleased with that effort as they only require 152 to seal this game and series, whereas England would be thinking that they have let this game go out of their hands. This was the moving day we all needed. Anyway, will be back tomorrow for the fourth day's play. Till then, stay tuned and Goodbye!

16:23 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: India going at a good rate, India: 37/0

Both Rohit and Yashasvi have come out for India with some intent. They are finding boundaries at every opportunity today. Not looking to hold back. Surely, that will help them big time.

16:21 (IST) Feb 25

Hahaha!!! You All Need To Hear This!

16:06 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Fourth Innings Begin, India Need 192 to win

Players and umpires are out in the centre for the final innings of the game. 191 for India and 10 wickets for England with series on the line. And yes, some 20 minutes remaining in the day. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal to open with Joe Root to bowl.

16:03 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Innings Break, India need 192 to win

What a game of cricket this has been. England bowled out for 145 which means India need 192 to win this match. Could be tough looking at the wicket but not impossible by any means. Meanwhile, Ashwin gets five and Kuldeep bags four to pull India back in the game on Day 3. Stay here  for the rest of the play.

15:57 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: England Bowled Out! England: 145/10

James Anderson couldn't survive more than two deliveries as he tries to reverse sweep Ashwin but gets the thigh pad which touches his glove and then, hits his bat to get it over the stumps as keeper Dhruv Jurel takes a brilliant one-handed catch. England have been bowled out for 145 with a lead of 191. Ashwin gets the fifer. 35th for him in this format.

15:52 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Ashwin Gets Foakes, England: 145/9

Ashwin gets his fourth. That was a carrom ball and Foakes gets a leading edge while trying to flick it through the one side and instead plays it straight back to Ashwin who completes a good catch. England lose ninth.

15:43 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Decision Overturned, England: 143/8

Ben Foakes was trying to reverse R Ashwin here but gets it on the pads. Finger raised by the umpire. He goes upstairs and gets the decision reversed. Saved by a minute edge from the bat. He won't be playing any fancy shots now. Has batted carefully in the last 11 overs.

15:31 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Drinks Break, England: 142/8

England have gone very defensive here after the fall of eighth wicket. Only nine runs in the last nine overs. Ben Foakes and Shoaib Bashir have been resilient in their defences. Indian spinners are trying hard to get another breakthrough here which can change their fortunes. Last one hour of play left for today. Lead is 188 for England.

15:02 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Robinson Goes For Duck, England: 133/8

Just too much happening in the over from Kuldeep. Ollie Robinson is finally gone. Again found in front of the stumps but this time nothing to save him. Finger was raised and it will stay raised. Kuldeep gets two in the over! India fighting back.

14:58 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Robinson Gets The Decision Reversed, England: 133/7

That was given out on-field. Hits his pads and reviews straightway. There's glove on the way. He survives. This could have been close but the decision is reversed.

14:54 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Hartley is back in the hut, England: 133/7

Hartley bends on one knee, looks to loft it over mid-on, but mistimes it to Sarfaraz who dives forward and completes a good catch. Kuldeep gets another wicket. India doing everything to turn this match in their favour.

14:47 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Maximum for Hartley, England: 130/6

Hartley smashes Jadeja over mid-wicket to acquire six crucial runs for his side. England need more of them. And guess what, skipper Ben Stokes is applauding. He likes intent like that. Very clearly.

14:31 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Bairstow Departs, England: 120/6

Ohh!! What!! Bairstow walks back! Soft dismissal. First ball after tea. Bairstow plays Jadeja straight into the hands of covers. Good wicket for India. Now then, the game has opened up.

14:30 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Third Session Begins, England: 120/5

All set for the third and final session. The umpires enter the ground and so do India players. Bairstow and Foakes are back at the crease. Bairstow on strike. Jadeja to resume.

14:11 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Tea Break, England: 120/5

India will be pretty happy at the moment. They have gotten five in the session. Finally, the wickets they were looking for. This was a good session for them. It looks quite well balanced now for both sides. England lead by 166 runs. Will see you after the Tea Break!

14:07 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Stokes Cleaned Up! England: 120/5

Skipper Ben Stokes has been knocked over here. Pretty lucky for India. Kuldeep's delivery is a flighted one. Stokes presses forward to defend, but is beaten, hits the back-pad, ricochets onto the stumps. Another good wicket. Stokes was lucky on last two occasions but this time, his luck didn't favour.

13:56 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Stokes Survives, England: 117/4

This was mighty close. Stokes survives. Just. Could have gone either way with the umpires call but the not-out decision gives batter the advantage. A smile from Stokes because he knows. The hitting was umpire's call, that is where he got saved.

13:48 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Crawley Departs, England: 110/4

Too good from Kuldeep this! He has cleaned up Zak Crawley. Huge wicket this given the circumstances. He was looking to play it through the covers but ball came back in sharply. He walks back for 60.

13:42 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Stumping Chance Missed, England: 106/3

That's a big chance missed by Dhruv Jurel. Could have a big wicket this of Bairstow. Turns too much for him to take that cleanly. Jadeja deserved a wicket there.

13:34 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Fifty For Crawley, England: 96/3

England's opener Zak Crawley has come good again for his side. Another wonderful innings. He has put in the hard yards and you all can see. This is a good knock. He has taken just 71 balls to get here. He continues to play aggressively despite some early wickets.

13:06 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Ashwin Gets Another One, England: 65/3

Big shout for LBW by the bowler Ashwin against Joe Root. Turned down by umpire. Ashwin is convinced. He convinces Rohit too. They go for it. Ohhhh!!! Three Reds! He's done him. Root is gone! Ashwin, you beauty! This is great stuff!

12:52 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: England Lead By 100, England: 54/2

54 on the board and England's lead now touches the 100-run mark. Anything above 300 for them will be a bonus. They would want to get there.

12:42 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Crawley on charge, England: 38/2

Zak Crawley is taking on Ashwin. Three boundaries in the over. That's the way to go. Some class on display here. He's not going to hold back. Proper cricketing shots. Also, no signs of pace as of now. Ashwin and Jadeja has continued since the start of the innings.

12:29 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Two in Two For Ashwin ! England: 19/2

What a start for India! Two in two! Two in Two!! Ashwin the master! Ollie Pope is gone first ball. Trapped in front of the stumps. That means something for India. That pulls match back in India's favour slightly. He reviews it but it turns out to be umpire's call for hitting. Joe Root is in.

12:25 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Ashwin Strikes, England: 19/1

That was well bowled by the ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who finds Ben Duckett's edge as it carries to Forward Short Leg. First Blood Drawn. India needed that start. Duckett back in the hut for 15.

12:12 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Second Session Begins!

Okay Folks! We're back for the second session of day 3 of the fourth Test. Things could go either way now. Love how it has panned out. England are leading by 46 runs. Players and umpires are out in the centre. Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley to open, while Ravichandran Ashwin will start with the new ball. Here we go!

11:36 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3: Lunch

That completes the first session! India trail by 46 but they should be proud of they have achieved here, given the circumstances they once were in. Jurel's resilient fightback and Yashasvi's wonderful statt have pushed India to 307. Will be back shortly after Lunch! Stay Tuned!

11:33 (IST) Feb 25

Bowled Him!

Cannot believe it! No one can either! Dhruv Jurel has been bowled by Tom Hartley on the score of 90! What a knock that couldn't see the daylight of three figures. He would be cursing himself but should be extremely proud for doing what he has just done. Getting India out of jail. Also, it happened right before lunch. India trail by 46 and England will bat after lunch. India: 307/10

11:29 (IST) Feb 25

300 On The Board For India!

That is pure class from Jurel. Another 6 & 4 and India's score now crosses 300. Who would have thought? Surely, now, India believes that they are right back in it. The game was long gone had it not for Jurel. He's turning out to be exceptional. India: 303/9

11:23 (IST) Feb 25

Bashir Bags His Maiden Test Fifer!

Outstanding bowling this from Shoaib Bashir. He traps Akash Deep in front of the stumps who unsuccessfully reviews it. India have lost their ninth and Bashir gets his first five wicket haul in Tests. Infact, his first in First-Class cricket. India: 303/9

11:20 (IST) Feb 25

Akash Deep getting into the act now

Debutant Akash Deep has tonked Bashir for a six here! Length delivery pitching outside the off stump. Deep gets down on a knee and swings across the line clearing the mid-wicket fence! That's required at this stage. India: 293/8

11:14 (IST) Feb 25

Six More!

Dhruv Jurel is making every opportunity count here. Another six for him against Bashir. That is shot of a man in some good form. Outstanding bit of cricket this. He knows he has to do the bulk of scoring since Akash Deep is at the other end. India: 287/8

11:07 (IST) Feb 25

Flurry of Boundaries!

Dhruv Jurel in counter attacking mode now. He smashed Shoaib Bashir for a 6 & 4 on two consecutive deliveries. That's some solid batting after that dropped catch. India reducing England's lead now. India: 279/8

11:01 (IST) Feb 25

Dropped!

Ollie Robinson has dropped Dhruv Jurel at mid-wicket. How costly is that going to be? It was hit hard by Jurel and Robinson couldn't get hold of it. It went through his hands. Would have been a massive wicket at this stage.

10:39 (IST) Feb 25

50 For Jurel!

What a fight under pressure. Dhruv Jurel has stood out for India. His maiden Test half-century and India's trail below 100 runs now. He has been impressive so far on this tough pitch. India: 254/8

10:35 (IST) Feb 25

Kuldeep Walks Back!

image-lt128dqyKuldeep cleaned up Anderson (Source: AP Photo)

Breakthrough for England on the stroke of the first hour of play, just before drinks. Unlucky for Kuldeep, the ball rolls back to stumps after hitting his bat and pad. Anderson's patience has finally paid off. He kept on bowling him there. Kuldeep back after a wonderful knock of 28 from 131 deliveries. That's the 76-run stand broken. India: 253/8

10:20 (IST) Feb 25

250 On The Board For India

That's a score, India wouldn't even have been dreaming of when the seventh wicket fell. Surely, this partnership between Jurel and Kuldeep. Outstanding batting this from these two. India's trail now 103 runs after 86 overs. India: 250/7

10:16 (IST) Feb 25

Kuldeep's Marathon

Just to inform you all. This is the most Kuldeep Yadav has ever batted in a Test innings. Infact, he has now played the most deliveries this innings by an Indian batter- 120.

10:04 (IST) Feb 25

Second New Ball Taken

England have immediately taken the second ball after it was made available to them on the completion of 80 overs.

9:51 (IST) Feb 25

50-Partnership Between Jurel and Kuldeep

That's an excellent partnership between Dhruv Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav crossing the 50-run mark. Very much important for India. This has saved them from a great embarrassment. Could have been folded under 200 but lucky for India, that these two are still there. India: 227/3

9:42 (IST) Feb 25

IND vs ENG, 4th Test, Day 3

Good Morning! Alright, the live action resumes here on Day 3 of this Test match from Ranchi. Dhruv Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav will be back at the crease for India. Shoaib Bashir to start off for England. Just to remind you, India are trailing by 134 at the moment. By the way, it's a cold morning here in Ranchi. India: 219/7

19:39 (IST) Feb 24

19:41 (IST) Feb 24

On a track that is obviously favouring spinners more than anyone, India would at least have to reduce their deficit to 50-60 runs - if not able to take a lead. A total will depend on how Kuldeep Yadav and the best of the tail bat around Dhruv.

19:42 (IST) Feb 24

After another day that went in England's way, India find themselves out of the match. First Joe Root's century outfoxed Rohit Sharma & co. on the first Day of the Ranchi Test, followed by young Shoaib Bashir's spin trap on Day 2. Still trailing behind by 134 runs, the 23-year-old Durel Jurel will have to channel inner Dhoni in Thala's home ground to reduce the hosts' first innings deficit.
