Pakistan will meet South Africa in the second T20I of the 3-game series on Friday, October 31. The match will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore at 8:30 PM IST.

Pakistan

Pakistan will be desperate to bounce back after a disappointing show in the first T20I at Rawalpindi, where they were bundled out for just 139 chasing 195. Only Saim Ayub (37) and Mohammad Nawaz (36) showed resistance against South Africa’s disciplined bowling.

Babar, who fell for a duck, will be eager to find form at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, a venue he loves. Pakistan’s pace duo, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah, must strike early, while the top order needs to step up to keep the series alive.

South Africa

South Africa’s young and energetic side stunned Pakistan in the series opener, producing an all-round performance despite missing several senior players. Reeza Hendricks led the charge with a fluent 60, while George Linde’s late fireworks lifted them to 194.

With the ball, debutant Corbin Bosch and Linde dismantled Pakistan’s batting lineup, ensuring a 55-run win. Heading into the Lahore clash, the Proteas will aim to seal the series, confident in their strong bowling attack and fearless young batting core that thrived under pressure in Rawalpindi.

PAK vs SA Head-to-head overview

Pakistan and South Africa have played 25 T20Is together. The Proteas won 13 games, while Pakistan also sealed 12 wins.

Gaddafi Stadium Lahore pitch report

The pitch at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium has always favoured batters, offering even bounce and good carry that encourages stroke play. With an average first-innings score of 166, teams batting first have won 20 of 32 T20Is here.

Fast bowlers may get some swing early under lights, but batting becomes easier as the match progresses. Spinners tend to find assistance in the middle overs once the surface dries up, making timing and shot selection crucial for both sides.
