Pakistan Under-19 pulverized Malaysia Under-19 by a record margin of 297 runs to start off the 2025 Under-19 Asia Cup on a winning note. Opening batter Sameer Minhas and number four Ahmed Hussain plundered big hundreds before Ali Raza and Mohammad Sayyam skittled Malaysia for just 48.

Minhas, Ahmed Hussain ton up to take Pakistan to 345

Pakistan Under-19 batted first and amassed 345-3 in their 50 overs. After the early dismissal of opener Usman Khan and number three Ali Hassan Baloch to Nagineswaran Sathnakumaran (2-91) to slip to 30-2 in 10 overs, Sameer Minhas crafted a monumental 293-run partnership with Ahmed Hussain for the third wicket to storm Pakistan past the 300-run mark.

Minhas top-scored in the innings with a burgeoning 177* off 148 balls, with 11 fours and eight huge sixes. Ahmed also tonked a scintillating 132 from 114 balls before hitting the wickets himself off Muhammad Akram.

Ali Raza, Mohammad Sayyam envelop Malaysia for just 48

Pakistan Under-19 fast bowlers Ali Raza and Mohammad Sayyam accounted for each of Malaysia’s top six batters by the time they reached just 34 in the first 10 overs. Both young quicks picked up three wickets each with the new ball, with Ali Raza finishing his spell with figures of 3-11.

Spinner Daniyal Ali Khan also struck twice in his four-over spell, while Niqab Shafiq delivered the knockout blow as Pakistan Under-19 enveloped Malaysia for just 48 in 19.4 overs to secure a comprehensive 297-run routing to start off the 2025 Under-19 Asia Cup
