Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant in Delhi’s Vijay Hazare probables
The Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) has unveiled the list of probable players for the Delhi cricket team for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 season. Notably, senior Indian batter Virat Kohli and blistering wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant both made it to the list, hinting at their respective returns to List A domestic cricket for Delhi.
The Delhi cricket team will face Andhra in their opening Elite Group D match of the tournament on December 24 at the KSCA Stadium in Alur.
New Zealand women spinner Eden Carson ruled out of 2026 World Cup
New Zealand off-spinner Eden Carson has been ruled out of next year’s 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup owing to her elbow injury. The 24-year-old is set to undergo a surgery on her elbow, which will require her six months of rehabilitation before returning to the field.
Eden Carson played a key role in New Zealand’s triumphant T20 World Cup campaign in 2024 last year, picking up nine wickets in the tournament at an impressive bowling average of 16.33. The youngster also picked up a match-winning 3-29 against West Indies in the semifinal.
Blair Tickner ruled out of second Test after injury
New Zealand fast bowler Blair Tickner has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing second Test of the three-match series against West Indies in Wellington. On Day 1 of the match, the speedster dislocated his left shoulder while attempting a full-length dive at fine leg in a bid to stop a boundary.
Before his injury, Blair Tickner had already picked up sensational figures of 4-32 in his 16 overs to skittle West Indies for just 205 in 75 overs. As per an update from the NZC, the 32-year-old will not be able to bat, bowl or field in the remainder of the match.
Oliver Peake to lead Australia U19 in World Cup 2026
Cricket Australia has unveiled Australia’s entire squad for next month’s 2026 ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in Zimbabwe and Namibia. Teenage batting all-rounder Oliver Peake was appointed as Australia’s captain, and he will be joined by the likes of John James, Aryan Sharma and Ben Gordon in a 15-player group.
Australia Under-19 will start out as defending champions in the tournament, considering they won the previous edition in 2024. They are placed in Group C of the competition alongside Ireland, Japan and Sri Lanka.
Arshdeep Singh creates unwanted T20I record against SA
Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh achieved an unwanted record in India’s second T20I of the ongoing five-match T20I series against South Africa. In his third over of the game, the speedster conceded seven wides to South African batters, bowled 13 balls in the over overall to join Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq for most balls bowled in a single T20I over among member nations.
Arshdeep Singh conceded nine wides overall in his spell, conceded 54 runs without a wicket as South Africa mounted a huge total of 213-4 in 20 overs in Mullanpur.
