Nicholas Pooran Dethrones Mitchell Marsh To Become IPL 2025 Orange Cap Holder

The Orange Cap race for the IPL 2025 is heating up with two Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) players dominating the list. The unlikely hero for LSG, Mitchell Marsh and their biggest superstar, Nicholas Pooran have been going against each other for the coveted Cap, with each of the two battling it hard against each other.

Pooran overtakes Marsh to become Orange Cap holder

Prior to the LSG Vs KKR match, Pooran was at the top as he had 201 runs, while Marsh was at the fourth place with 184 runs. However, Marsh turned on the heat with his batting against KKR and smashed a quick-fire 81 runs to overtake Pooran and become the new Orange Cap holder.

However, it was Pooran show at the Eden Gardens as the southpaw saw his teammate cross him in the Orange Cap race and he bludgeoned the KKR bowlers across the park and smacked 87 off 26 balls. In the process, he reached 288 runs and overtook Marsh to take the Orange Cap back.

Most runs in IPL 2025

Pooran leads the charts and is followed by his teammate, Mitch Marsh. The third spot in the race is occupied by Mumbai Indians batter, Suryakumar Yadav.

Pooran was at his absolute best against KKR as their bowlers lacked the cutting-edge and they fed Pooran at his strong zones. He slammed 87 runs and this was his highest score in IPL history. Also, he became the second fastest batter to 2,000 IPL runs.
