Led by Rishabh Pant, Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) had a dream start to the IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. Riding on a sensational half-century by Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran's blistering cameo, LSG set the foundation for a whopping total in the match. 

Why Rishabh Pant Did Not Come To Bat vs KKR?

Rishabh Pant has struggled with the bat in the IPL 2025, managing only 19 runs across four innings. He has looked terribly out of touch, failing to put up impactful performances for his team. 

After Harshit Rana castled Aiden Markram, Mitch Marsh and Nicholas Pooran stitched a blistering stand of 71 runs for the second wicket. The partnership was finally broken in the 16th over when Russell got the prized scalp of Marsh, who demoralised the hosts with a power-packed knock. 

LSG skipper Rishabh Pant is no longer the same hitter he once used to be. He generally takes a bit of time before shifting gears. So, with only five overs left, the LSG skipper didn't come to bat, promoting Abdul Samad instead. 

Nicholas Pooran Runs Riot In KKR vs LSG Clash

West Indies' swashbuckling batter Nicholas Pooran had another memorable outing in the game, as he schooled the Knight Riders with his scintillating stroke play. As of writing, LSG were 221 for three, with Nicholas Pooran and David Miller batting in the middle.
