Mushfiqur Rahim Breaks Mohammad Ashraful's Record In 1st BAN Vs SL Test

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Bangladesh had a shaky start to their innings, losing Shadman Islam and Anamul Haque cheaply inside the first fifteen overs.

Although Mominul Haque looked confident for his breezy 33-ball 29, Sri Lanka's debutant spinner Tharindu Rathnayake dismissed him, wreaking havoc in the Tigers' camp.

While skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto consolidated Bangladesh's innings with a valiant fifty, Mushfiqur Rahim played a magnificent knock to settle the nerves of the visiting team.

The veteran keeper-batter eventually completed his 28th Test half-century while also breaking Mohammad Ashraful's record as Bangladesh's most successful Test batter in Sri Lanka.
