She is staying magenta! Ellyse Perry, one of the brightest stars in women's cricket, has signed a three-year extension with the Sydney Sixers, keeping her in the WBBL until at least season 13.

Ellyse Perry Commits Long-Term To Sixers With New Three-Year Deal

Ellyse Perry has been the heart and soul of the Sixers since day one. She was their first signing back in 2015 and has captained the side from the very beginning. From back-to-back titles in WBBL 2 and 3 to her huge run tally of 4,689 runs at a stunning average of 48.84, this isn’t just about runs, it’s about legacy.

Even when the trophies have dried up in recent seasons, Perry's been that steady rock. With new head coach Matthew Mott now steering the ship, this feels like the dawn of a new chapter, and Pez is still the cornerstone.

Perry’s Golden Run Keeps Glowing

She might be 34, but Ellyse Perry is still playing like she is in her prime. Just last year, she helped RCB to their first-ever WPL title, finishing as the top run-scorer. She is a 6-time T20 World Cup champ, a Commonwealth Games gold medallist, a WNCL legend with ten titles and still showing up big in domestic leagues around the world.

In the WBBL alone, Perry’s hit two tons, 33 fifties and grabbed 70 wickets. She topped the run-charts last summer too, racking up 424 runs. And she has been named in the Team of the Tournament seven times.

A New Era But The Same Sixers Spirit

Under Matthew Mott’s guidance, Sydney Sixers Women are clearly trying to build something special again. Along with Perry, they have got heavy-hitters like Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner, Amelia Kerr and a solid domestic core featuring Lauren Cheatle, Maitlan Brown and Courtney Sippel.

Despite making the top four just once in the last six seasons, this fresh core and Perry’s experience could be just what they need to turn the tide.

Sixers GM Rachael Haynes said:

“Anyone who knows Pez knows she’s not just an outstanding talent, she’s an incredible role model… Her professionalism, humility, and experience make her a valuable asset not just to our club, but to the league as a whole.”

Ellyse Perry Excited To Continue With Sixers

Speaking about her new deal, Ellyse Perry kept it classy and heartfelt.

“It’s lovely to have the opportunity to continue with the Sixers. The club means so much to me,” she said, reflecting on her journey from WBBL’s very first season.

Perry, who has seen it all in magenta, added that she has been lucky to share the dressing room with some incredible players, coaches and staff.

With new head coach Matthew Mott stepping in and a fresh group of talented youngsters around, Perry said she’s “really excited for what’s ahead.”
