The all-important final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be played at Karachi’s National Stadium on Monday between two of the most star-studded franchises of the ongoing edition – Multan Sultans and Islamabad United.

While table-toppers Multan, led by Mohammad Rizwan, made the cut in the summit clash by beating Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi in the Qualifier, Shadab Khan’s Islamabad took a long road to reach there, defeating Peshawar and Quetta in the Eliminators in successive days.

With plenty of match-winners on either side from top to bottom, including Azam Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Naseem Shah, Imad Wasim, Usman Khan, and Mohammad Ali, to name a few, this contest is thought to be a nerve-racking one for the viewers.

In the league phase, both fixtures between Islamabad and Multan went down to the wire. Multan emerged victorious in the first meeting, getting to a paltry 145-run target with five wickets and a ball to spare. Islamabad, on the other hand, chased down a huge 229-run target on the last ball of the contest, albeit Multan's Usman Khan made headlines by hitting a swashbuckling century.
