In a contest where the winner will join Multan Sultans for PSL 2024 final, Islamabad United will take on Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday (March 16) in Eliminator 2 of the ongoing edition at National Stadium, Karachi.

This will be Islamabad’s second game in two days, having beaten Quetta Gladiators by 39 runs in Eliminator 1 at the same venue. In the fixture, the bowlers, led by Naseem Shah and Imad Wasim, produced a spirited performance, whereas the batters failed to carry on the momentum.

Among the concerns, Islamabad had to drop Colin Munro due to a hamstring injury. In his place, veteran opener and his New Zealand mate Martin Guptill came at the top of the attack. However, he took 47 balls for his 56, which did not allow them to score runs quickly.

Now, the big question is if Shadab Khan have the guts to drop Guptill immediately after the half-century? Given the fact that Munro was in sublime form in the competition, it may happen, only if he gets fully fit before the all important clash against Babar and his boys.

Among other things, there is little possibility of changes, as Shadab would like to carry on the winning momentum which they just gained.
