As India and England competed on Day 5 of the fifth Test at the Oval, a calm KL Rahul was unbothered by the pressure. In a viral video, he is seen juggling the ball and entertaining the crowd with his football skills.
The incident happened during the final stages of the match when England were desperately trying to chase 374. Injured all-rounder Chris Woakes, with one arm in a sling, bravely came out to bat at No. 11 to support Atkinson.
The equation was below 20 runs, and with the pressure building, the entire crowd present at The Oval held their breath.
KL Rahul Defies Pressure With Cool Football Moves
While the match was hanging by a thread, KL Rahul, stationed in the slips, was unbothered by the pressure and let his foot do the talking. After one of Gus Atkinson’s defensive strokes dribbled towards him, Rahul casually flicked the ball up with his foot and juggled it like a footballer.
The crowd roared in delight as Rahul’s silent taunt was clearly aimed at mocking the struggling England pair. It was classic KL Rahul, composed, stylish, and slightly mischievous.

The video of Rahul’s calmness has gone viral on social media, with fans loving his demeanour on the ground. Also, Rahul’s calmness was fuelled by his stellar form in the series.
In 10 games, he scored 532 runs, including hundreds at Leeds and Lord’s. He finished as the third-highest run-scorer in the series, behind captain Shubman Gill.
Rahul Overwhelmed By India’s Performance On England Tour
KL Rahul hailed India's 2-2 draw in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy as one of the country's greatest Test achievements. Talking to broadcasters after the fifth Test, he used words like “satisfying” and “hard-fought” to describe the results.
"Feeling is hard to describe. Been here, toiled for 25 days. It took every inch out of us. Everything that we had, physically, mentally, emotionally, this Test series has taken everything away from all of us. And I think, at the end of 25 days, we're standing here 2-2, absolutely proud of ourselves. So satisfying to be here and draw the series."
"Would have loved to win this series. But for a young team to come here and for a lot of us to step up and show the world that we can compete, we can win games outside of India, yeah, it's truly a testament to what this team is and what Indian cricket means."
Rahul said the series proved India’s young team can compete and win overseas. Reflecting on the emotional and physical toll, Rahul added that 25 days of cricket took a lot from the team, but he is happy with the end result regardless.
