The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 turned out to be one of the finest five-match Test series ever to be played. India and England both exchange punches right throughout the long series, and at the end of it, the scoreline shows 2-2.

Generally, incase of a drawn series, the team that won the previous series takes the trophy home. The previous series between India and England in the UK was also drawn, but the one before that was won by England by a 4-1 margin.

So, if the series had been the Pataudi Trophy (previous name), it would have gone to England. However, the name was changed to the Anderson Tendulkar Trophy before the series, and thus, with this being the first edition, the trophy has been shared between the two sides.

How England vs India 5-Match Test Series Panned Out?

England started off with a fantastic run-chase in the opening match while India made a strong comeback at Edgbaston to level the series. The Lord's Test then went right down to the wire, and India lost the match by just 22 runs.

The caravan then shifted to Manchester, and after being put under the pump, India managed to eke out a draw on a flat deck. Then came the fifth and final encounter of the series, and it was a roller-coaster of a ride. It seemed that India had the match under their kitty after their second innings with the bat, but Brook and Joe Root batted brilliantly to take the game away from India.

Thus, at one point in time on Day 4, it looked like England would win the game comfortably, but Brook's wicket triggered a collapse with Indian pacers bowling brilliantly. In the end, India won the final Test by just six runs, and the series has rightly ended in a draw.
