In the ongoing fourth Test match between India and England in Ranchi, English batter Joe Root etched his name in the annals of cricket history. Root became the first Englishman to surpass the 19,000-run milestone in international cricket, achieving this feat in just 444 innings.

Joining the ranks of cricket legends like Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, and Brian Lara, Root showcased his skills by reaching this milestone with remarkable speed.

Root's milestone moment came during the fourth ball of the 57th over, when he elegantly dispatched Ravichandran Ashwin for a boundary, crossing the 19,000-run mark.

Adding to his accolades, Root notched his 10th Test century against India in Ranchi, marking his 31st overall in Test cricket. His century came at a crucial juncture for England, as they found themselves struggling at 112/5 earlier in the innings. Root's resilient innings provided much-needed stability to the English batting line up.

At the close of day one, England stood at 302/7, with Root unbeaten on 106 runs and Ollie Robinson accompanying him with a solid 31 not out. Root's exceptional performance not only cemented his place in cricket history but also bolstered England's position in the Ranchi Test.

It is worth noticing that, Joe Root became the first batter in history to score 10 Test centuries against India, showcasing his dominance against the formidable Indian cricket team.
