RCB has been the only hope for RCB in the IPL 2024 (AP)
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), desperate to get back to winning ways, will host in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday from 7.30 PM onwards.
It's going to be a blockbuster Southern derby with high stakes for RCB as they aim to ditch the last position on the points table.
RCB vs SRH: Team Previews
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
RCB's bowling has been showing horrendous show in IPL 2024 (AP)
RCB tumbled to the bottom of the points table after their previous shocking defeat against Mumbai Indians, where they failed to defend 199 runs. With a mere two points in six games, RCB's road to playoffs will get tougher as the tournament races through its halfway stage.
That being said, the team combination is not clicking for RCB this year. As captain Faf du Plessis admitted that the team lacks a wicket-taking bowler and the overall weaker bowling lineup has put extra pressure on the batting unit.
Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis have been clinical at the top. But Glenn Maxwell and Rajat Patidar's flop show is hurting the team the most. Moreover, the lack of promising young talent is further pushing RCB to rely on foreign players.
Regardless, with the stakes being high, RCB is expected to bring their A-game and win two crucial points necessary to remain alive in the knockout race.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Under Pat Cummins' leadership, SRH has been in top form (AP)
Despite losing a couple of games in the middle, SRH remain in a much stronger and comfortable position on the points table with six points added to their tally.
Having said that, SRH faced issues with death bowling in their previous fixture against PBKS. While skipper Pat Cummins delivered with 5.50 economy, Jaydev Unadkat's last over blowout nearly pushed them to a humiliating defeat.
Regardless, Nitish Reddy's discovery will go down as the biggest positive for SRH this year. In his debut game, Reddy turned up with a 37-ball, 64-run inning to guide SRH to a par total.
Overall, against an out-of-touch RCB bowling lineup, SRH's heavyweight batting order shouldn't face much trouble tomorrow at hitters' paradise Chinnaswamy Stadium.

RCB vs SRH: M. Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report
M. Chinnaswamy Stadium of Bengaluru has always been a hitter-friendly park due to its shooter boundary lengths, and for the upcoming IPL 2024 fixture between RCB and SRH, the conditions won't be any different. We expect a high-scoring game, with 200 being an achievable target. However, the new ball will trouble the batters early under the lights and with due coming in, chasing is the most ideal choice on this surface.
