In a remarkable display of talent and temperament, Nitish Kumar Reddy, 20 years old, captured the headline for his blistering knock of 64 runs off just 37 balls including five commanding sixes against Punjab Kings. 


Who is Nitish Kumar Reddy?

The spotlight is shining brightly on Nitish Kumar Reddy, a young talent player originally hailing from Andhra Pradesh. Born on May 26, 2003, in Visakhapatnam, has been making waves in domestic cricket playing for Andhra. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad bought the service of the young and talented player at the base price of 20 lakh during the IPL 2023 auction. 

Despite his young age, he has already shown his all-round abilities on the field. The right-hand batter had played 9 T20 matches and scored 170 runs at a strike rate of 120.56. 

He has an impressive Ranji record in 7 fixtures that he has played for Andhra, he has scored 366 runs which also includes a fifty and a century. 

Nitish Kumar has also played for India B at the U-19 level. He has played 17 first-class matches, scoring 566 runs. The Andhra cricketer has also played 22 List A games, accumulating 403 runs with an average of 36.63. 

Therefore, after an impactful knock against Punjab and considering his incredible batting prowess, we can expect the youngster to play for SRH in its next fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 15, 2024.
