India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been exceptional with the ball in the ongoing first Test match against Australia at Perth Stadium. In Rohit Sharma's absence, Bumrah has led India from the front, scripting a remarkable comeback for the visiting team with his breathtaking bowling spell. However, the fast bowler, who has already claimed five wickets, missed out on a well-deserved six-fer, thanks to Rishabh Pant's blunder behind the stumps.

The incident occurred during the 37th over of Australia's first innings when Josh Hazlewood was batting alongside his fast-bowling partner Mitchell Starc. India's stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah had a fantastic start to the over, keeping the Aussie duo quiet and conceding only a solitary run off his first five deliveries.

The legendary seamer finally managed to induce an outside edge off Hazlewood's bat only to see the ball rolling down to the third man fence for four runs.

From around the wicket, Bumrah bowled a back-of-the-length delivery that shaped slightly away from the southpaw, taking the outside edge off his bat. However, Rishabh Pant misjudged the ball completely and reacted late, allowing the ball to fly towards the boundary.

Pant's sloppy effort frustrated Bumrah, who gave an angry stare to express his disappointment at the missed opportunity.

India Leave Australia Reeling In Perth Test

Riding on Bumrah's clinical fifer and magnificent spells from Harshit Rana and Mohammed Siraj, India have reduced Australia to 93 for nine in 39.3 overs. At the time of writing, Starc and Hazlewood were batting as Australia's last batting pair, with the hosts still trailing India's first innings total by 57 runs.
