It's time for take two as India meet Bangladesh in the high-octane second Test at the Green Park Stadium, Kanpur from 27 September onwards. This is another opportunity for Rohit Sharma led-side to register a thumping win against the neighbouring nation. Whereas Najmul Hossain and Co get a chance to achieve a historic feat.

What happened in IND vs BAN 1st Test?

India continued their impressive winning streak in the home Tests as they crushed Bangladesh by 280 runs in the first Test of the two-match series at Chepauk. The victory ensured that India had not lost a Test series at home since 2012, and the team now looks to make it its 18th successive home series win.

Batting first under overcast conditions, India struggled, and the innings quickly dented with a loss of wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal, however, stood out with a score of 56 runs. Stabilized by a vital pair by Ravindra Jadeja (86) and Ravichandran Ashwin (113), India could achieve 376 runs. Hasan Mahmud proved their history with five wickets for Bangladesh.

However, Bangladesh's struggle was evident as they failed to capitalize on their position, scoring only 149 runs. Shakib Al Hasan's 32 was the highest score. The pressure was on as Jasprit Bumrah's 4/50 bowling figures brought India closer to victory.

India declared at 287/4 in their second innings, with significant contributions from Shubman Gill (119*) and Rishabh Pant (109). Bangladesh, facing a daunting target of 515 runs, felt the mounting pressure. Only Najmul Hossain Shanto's 82 provided any significant resistance. However,  the highlight of the match was Ravichandran Ashwin's six-wicket haul, which equalized Shane Warne's record for his 37th five-wicket haul.
