The Rohit Sharma-led Indian side team is poised to face Bangladesh in the second and final Test of their ongoing series at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on September 27. The Indian team has arrived in Kanpur riding high on momentum after a commanding victory in the first Test at Chennai, where they crushed Bangladesh by a massive margin of 280 runs.

India now leads the two-match series 1-0 and will look to complete a clean sweep. In their first-ever Test meeting at the Green Park Stadium both India and Bangladesh will be looking to make the most of the venue’s conditions.

India's victory in the first Test not only gave them a strong start to their home season but also cemented their position as the top-ranked team in the ongoing 2023-2025 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

On the other hand, expectations were high from Bangladesh coming into the series, especially after their historic series win against Pakistan. However, the visitors crumbled under pressure in Chennai, unable to withstand India’s all-round brilliance.

The upcoming Test at Kanpur will provide India an opportunity to add another win to their tally, while Bangladesh will be eager to put up a stronger fight after their crushing defeat in Chennai.

As the teams shift to Kanpur for the second Test, the conditions will offer a stark contrast to what was seen in Chennai. Unlike the red soil pitch in the first Test, the Green Park Stadium will feature a black soil pitch, known for its tendency to favor spinners from early on.

As the two teams prepare for the second Test, all eyes will be on how the black soil pitch influences the match and whether Bangladesh can rise to the challenge or if India’s spinners will once again prove to be the decisive factor in the contest.
